Helping Children Begin New Placements With Support — Not Exclusion.

Made to Bloom Foundation is developing a short-term transitional support program for children with ADHD, Level 1 autism, and related behavioral or developmental needs who are entering a new school, daycare, camp, or early learning environment.

Our goal is to help children, families, and educational teams navigate the most vulnerable part of a new enrollment: the first several school days.

Program Overview

What Is Transitional Support?

A child's first days in a new classroom can determine whether the placement becomes stable or ends before appropriate services have time to begin.

Made to Bloom Foundation is developing a transitional support program that will provide up to 10 instructional days of short-term, on-site support for eligible children entering a new educational or childcare setting.

Trained support specialists will work alongside the child, family, and facility team to encourage successful adjustment, identify helpful strategies, reduce misunderstandings, and support a smoother transition while longer-term services are being coordinated.

This program is designed to bridge a temporary gap. It is not intended to replace permanent one-to-one support, clinical treatment, Early Intervention, special education services, or licensed behavioral healthcare.

Why It Matters

Why the First 10 School Days Matter

Children Need Time to Adjust

Some children require more time, movement, repetition, and individualized redirection before they understand a new environment and its expectations.

Families Need Stability

Parents should not lose childcare or miss work repeatedly while waiting for approved long-term supports to begin.

Facilities Need Practical Support

Teachers and childcare professionals may benefit from an experienced support person who can help identify triggers, model healthy redirection, and share strategies that work.

Services Need a Stable Placement

Long-term support agencies often need a confirmed placement before assigning permanent staff. Frequent removals can interrupt that process.

Behavior Should Be Understood in Context

Impulsivity, sensory-seeking behavior, difficulty transitioning, or limited social awareness should not automatically be interpreted as intentional aggression or defiance.

How It Works

How We Plan to Help

STEP 01

Parent or Facility Expresses Interest

A parent, caregiver, school, daycare, camp, or early learning program submits an interest form.

STEP 02

Initial Review

Made to Bloom reviews the child's needs, enrollment status, available records, and whether the situation fits the program's intended scope.

STEP 03

Facility Partnership

The educational or childcare facility agrees to collaborate with the program and allow an approved support specialist to participate on-site.

STEP 04

Up to 10 Instructional Days of Support

A trained specialist supports the child's transition, observes the setting, identifies practical strategies, and works collaboratively with staff and the family.

STEP 05

Transition Summary and Next Steps

At the end of the support period, Made to Bloom provides practical observations, strategies, and recommendations for continued success.

Trust & Safety

Prepared, Screened, and Child-Focused.

Made to Bloom plans to recruit trained and enthusiastic professionals with experience supporting children with ADHD, autism, developmental differences, emotional regulation challenges, and classroom adjustment needs.

Program personnel working directly with children will be required to satisfy applicable screening and qualification requirements before placement, which may include:

  • Criminal background clearances
  • Child abuse clearances
  • FBI fingerprinting when required
  • Mandated reporter training
  • CPR and First Aid certification where applicable
  • Relevant education, childcare, behavioral support, special education, or lived-experience qualifications
  • Program-specific training and supervision
For Schools & Facilities

Become a Founding School or Childcare Partner

Made to Bloom is seeking schools, daycares, early learning centers, camps, and community programs interested in helping shape a more inclusive transition process for neurodivergent children.

  • Express interest in participating in a future pilot

For Parents & Caregivers

Is Your Child Starting Somewhere New?

Made to Bloom is building this program for families whose children may need added understanding and support when entering a new school, daycare, camp, or early learning program.

Parents and caregivers may join the interest list if their child:

  • Has ADHD, Level 1 autism, or similar behavioral or developmental needs
  • Is awaiting evaluation or permanent services
  • Has recently lost a placement or is preparing to start somewhere new
  • Has difficulty with transitions, impulsivity, emotional regulation, social boundaries, movement, or classroom adjustment
  • May benefit from short-term support during a new enrollment
Submitting an interest form does not guarantee acceptance or immediate service. The program is still being developed, and each future request will require review, facility cooperation, available staffing, and confirmation that the child's needs fall within the program's scope.
